Long time no update no?
The ~~evils of~~ school and Tumblr have kind of taken me hostage. Thus, this blog is kind of dead haha. The cbox is even more dead. It's extinct. The last post on it was from last year xD

It's filled with the random things I find intriguing and amusing, so you'll get stuff like art, architecture, LOL moments, and whatnot. And a while lot of Inception and Namie Amuro 'spamming'.

Anyway, I'm on school holidays at the moment. It's brilliant really, last term was so hectic and pressuring. The last three days of school were for School Certificate trials, so it was exam after exam with no classes. The papers weren't too hard (I'm worried about my English one though. For some reason English is my weakness,especially with the stupid ambiguous multiple choice questions. Sh*t. Loved the Maths & Science papers though.), but the time factor was certainly a concern, with all the long responses and essays. How sucky is that?
Especially when you are in the midst of a 2 hour paper in the hall and you hear the school bell signaling the change of periods. You end up groaning in despair as you hear the laughter of the rest of the school body as they oh-so-leisurely stroll past the hall towards their next (no doubt) entertaining class. Then you are attacked by the evils of the runny nose. It's not doing anything for your situation either, because you are recovering from what happens to be a terrible cold, in which your throat is constantly plagued by phlegm. You get self-conscious because the hall is so bloody quiet (which is good for concentration actually), that it makes it hard for you to blow your nose into a tissue without the rest of your cohort glancing over in your direction....and you get the point.

But so far I am trying to enjoy my holidays, and squeeze in some study too :)
Do some art, go out with friends, get rid of stress-FINISH THAT GUSTAV KLIMT PAPER+PAINTING.

btw. SMASH was epic. Though I didn't manage to get Yuko Miyamura's autograph ): I was like, 5 people away from her, and the people were like "Oh I'm sorry, we need to get her up on the main stage. And like, yeah, too bad, you 10 people, we can't spare another minute just for one autograph.".
They didn't really say that, but that was the gist. lolwut xD She seemed pretty nice though.
I didn't really have harsh feelings against the organisers though- they went through a lot to set up the whole thing (which was REALLY FUN ANYWAY :DDDD ). Good on them for doing such a good job this year! I think I might join the organising team when I turn 18.

ALSO. WHY, SUNRISE!!! WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO the GRAHAM AKER IN THE MOVIE D: and here I thought that he was getting back on his epic gundam-loving track.

It's the holidays :D

Once more can I relax into my (very, very bad) habit of waking up at 12 noon!

I need to stop doing that. I waste like, half the day doing that.
I also need to stop reading fanfiction on my phone before I sleep. ~~It's so hard to find a good one to read. Srsly, most of them make my eyes bleed. And when I do find a good one, the author takes months to update. Well, it's not their fault, but still.~~

IN OTHER NEWS.
Yeah, I know this is really old, but you know- the World Music Awards never gets broadcast in Australia (at least not on free-to-air), but I'm ecstatic that Namie Amuro won Best Asian Artist this year 8D
I'd thought that she perform some of her newer material at the awards ceremony (y'know, maybe something from her currently chart-topping album PAST>FUTURE that I am currently playing on repeat and am most likely already wearing the CD out?) but she used her style and song from the 'PLAY' era. Still, no biggie. I love 'HIDE & SEEK'.

Come to think of it, that song is probably geared towards the American style of pop music, which is why she performed it.
But really, that doesn't matter.

She seemed quite nervous during the performance xD

BUT CONGRATS AMURO-SAN. OMG. Finally! When I found out, I was so happy for her ^^
She's been making music for so long- I hope I can get to here more material from her in the future.

Wow, I've been MIA for quite a while haha.
Not that anyone should miss me- I doubt anyone reads this but that's not the point.

Last week of school for the term right now. Year 10 has turned out to be a rollercoaster of school work- we have assessments 'Going Towards Our School Certificate' almost every week, and I have been tied up with Peer Mediation training and competition during every single lunchtime.

I don't think I've been able to sit with my friends during lunch for 7 weeks now D:

Blargh, my body of work for art is due too. I need to fix up my Visual Diary.

But we had our Senior School Transition course this week + Computer Skills practice, which meant heaps of free time during classes for me because I knew the work. Heh. I also had a Career interview, which went rather smoothly for me. I told the Deputy and the Careers Adviser that I wanted to head towards a Design/Arts career- maybe Graphic Design, or even Linguistic or Cultural/Social Anthropology. They had no problem with it, even said I could do anything I wanted (which made me happy 8D), but they did approach me regarding a decision as to whether I should do Chemisty or Ancient/Modern History. They said my marks reflected a capability to do either, but as I did point out to them, History was probably a more logical choice to study as opposed to Chem.

Bah, it's so true. And I can't exactly do both because I've filled up all my units. But I love Chemistry xD And I totally hate the essay part of the History course.

I don't exactly want to put too much pressure on my other subjects because the Careers Adviser said combinations of Extension English and Extension Math were rather rare.

Shit.

Need to do some thinking haha xD

Now that I finally ~~remember~~ have the time to sit down and watch TV, I can say 2010 has got a great line up of shows.
Flash Forward, Top Gear (OH YEAH!), Good Game, Mythbusters , Beautiful People, 'Allo 'Allo! (bah, its not new but who cares) etc etc.
But I'm really hooked to Glee.
Never before have I been so in love with a show on TV to the point where I've filled my music player with its songs. Never before had I realised what a Glee club was. <--- Fail
The acting, the storyline, the lovable ~~Chris Colfer~~ characters, comedy, and the music- what's not to love?

The only annoying thing is that Australia has to wait several weeks until the episodes can be broadcasted- which means it's really hard not to bump into spoilers haha.

HOLY CRAP, Chris Colfer, I have even more respect for you. 10-inches is not everyone's cup of tea.

I wish he covered Bad Romance as a single haha xD

Loved all those days of the Winter Olympics :)
Winter sports are just amazing to watch, they are so breathtaking (and freakin dangerous sometimes). The death of the luger was truly a terrible thing, but it didn't cause the Games to crash and burn. Each athlete still performed at their very best.
Was really rooting for South Korea in the short track speed skating- they were amazing xD
But now I have to wait another 4 years D:

I just realised I never blogged about my holiday. Ah well, procrastination has become one of my many middle names, but I assure that I will get it done... >.>
Staying true to some sort of tradition, I'm blogging halfway through a school term about me starting school. If that made any sense. But yeah, the new school year has started (and I'm halfway through the first term).
There is a real sense of increased expectations for us Year 10s now- the workload has increased, and I have a hell lot more of responsibilities this year. Gah, gotta make an announcement during assembly tomorrow on anime club.

I hope I do well this year :]

Sad thing is, I really hoped to get this painting done before the holidays started. For some odd reason, I wanted to draw my old Naruto characters ~~( I blame Itachi. Damn you and your luring good looks/voice)~~ , so yeah. I'm still only at the lineart stage, because I want to get the proportions and perspective right, but I can already visualise what the end product looks like :] I'm quite happy with it so far, but I haven't been able to do so much as touch it since school started. I do place school as a top priority after all (I should be studying now xD)

Gotta go now, have to finish my history homework on Menzies and his Communist Dissolution Bill. It's rather interesting, I have to say, but answering questions can be a pain.

Yes, more Gintama news xD
I actually want to blog about my vacation, but I'll do that later. Got to get this out first.

A few weeks ago, Gintama aired a new ending song. So soon xD
Anyway, here it is- 'SAYONARA no Sora' by Qwai

Ah, the ending certainly misleads many non-Gintama viewers xD But it is actually in relation to the spin-off novels '3Z Ginpachi Sensei', where the crazy characters are thrown in to a high school situation. Many fans love it, I love it, and well, yeah.

But you know, there are rumours that the Gintama anime is going on a hiatus D:

The original manga is good but the anime completes it!
Bah, oh well. Gintama loves to trick the public. The list of 'trolls' grows all the time haha.

In the meantime, the opening has seen several changes- Jiraia's arc ended and the animation has been fixed up a little...

The video above is a comparison of the 4 versions of the opening 'Light Infection' by PRAGUE. Yes, the dodgy MS-paint job one is legit 8D
The lastest incarnation of the opening is the one on the bottom right- and judging by the two new characters (from the latest few manga chapters), the anime is really catching up quickly to the manga.
But anyway, I love the ~~Joy~~Joui-4 scene towards the end :) The first ending used to have just Gintoki running with his sword and such, but the addition of Katsura, Takasugi and Sakamoto is brilliant :D

Oh, and the end bit of the video where you hear a...really relaxed sounding idiot talking is actually one of the versions of the Gintama movie trailer coming out soon :D
The first version was the more serious one, with the actual sound and effects and everything, but this version is priceless! Voiced by none other than Prince Hata from the series 8D

Hi everyone :)
Did you have a nice Christmas? I know mine was pretty good, albeit being rather quiet.

Haha, forgot to blog that the holidays have just started. Yesterday was the first day, and I got some friends to come over to my house. We had fun ^^ Played Singstar, watched Angels and Demons (which is epic!), and played some other games.

My school report was so far,the best of my school years (I came 3rd in PE. Me. 3rd. In PE. I could've come second if i had 2 more points though xD. But still. 3rd. Me.), and as I result I had extreme nerves before Presentation Day. Haha, can't wait till next year.

To tie in with the good news, my friend and I won first place in the Sydney Wylies Baths Art Competition for Secondary schools :)

It's one of my best, I think :)
I was inspired by UVERworld's new song 'Kanashimi wa Kitto'- the lyrics played a part in it, but it was mostly the part after Takuya sings with the orchestra in the beginning, when the rest of the band members start up the song (see the vid below at 00:50 to 01:00)

I had that part of the song, those 9 seconds or so, replaying in my head over and over, so 'Breathe' was mainly a result of that :)
I love UVERworld. I want to go and buy their albums and singles when I go to Singapore.

Oh, did I mention I was going to Singapore? FINALLY?
That's right, on the 31st of Dec, we are flying to Penang, and on the 7th I'll be coming down to Singapore. I told Rayson that, and suggested that 6/7 should have a reunion- I could try to pop in 8D

I am also going to get Namie Amuro's Past< Future album. And Gintama, or Gundam 00. Or even Macross (yes, I just started watching that 8D)

Last week I watched Michael Jackson's This is It with my friends. My god, it was SO EPIC. No wonder my friend watched it 3 times.My love for MJ has rekindled again 8D
He still had the same lively aura he had when he was younger- even though we didn't see all of it (it was rehearsal footage- you wouldn't exhaust yourself in rehearsals). Dancing was awesome, the set was mindblowing, and the green screen films were epic! I especially enjoyed the remake films for 'They Don't Care About Us', 'Thriller', and 'Smooth Criminal'.
He had a lolly pop at one point. LOL. That was cute.
I would've loved to see what the full concert would've been like, with full costumes and set. The rehearsal was epic, so there is no doubt that the real thing could've been the best concert of the decade/century. But that's my opinion.
So now I think I am really a serious MJ fan. I had his Dangerous album and HIStory DVD before, and have always loved his music, but now it's serious. 8D
I regret not doing this earlier.

The other day I found this video 'Whatzupwitu' by Eddie Murphy ft. Michael Jackson. Eddie appeared in MJ's 'Remember The Time' video (oh that was so good), so I'm guessing MJ did the same for Eddie.

I didn't know Eddie sang though. 'Whatzupwitu' isn't amazing (by MJ's standards I guess, and the music video was a little..strange. People were littering the comments with negative things (you go to the page to see). I don't know what opinion I have about that, but I do know that MJ made some pretty damn cute faces in the video.

The final arc of the hit anime is returning :)

New anime= better animation=new opening=LOVE :)
Even better, one of my all time favourite bands, Do As Infinity, has come back together (they disbanded in 2004-5 ish), and they are doing the opening ^^ Ahh, Tomiko Van, you are still the awesome singer~

But damn, they've increased Sesshomaru-sama's BISHIE LEVEL AGAIN. The same happened with Itsuki in the new Haruhi season.

But that's not a BAD thing of course 8D

Well, today is officially marking the last day of school for Term 3 :)
I've got a 2 week break ahead of me, but it isn't all play lol. I still have to study for my yearlys coming up T_T That's why I am trying to finish my homework in the first week.

I looked back at my old digital 'art' and I really think I've improved over the past 2 years- after all, the main reason why I joined dA was to improve my digital art. I started from scratch, teaching myself how to use the tablet and painting programs, with the help from dA of course, so 'Walk' is kind of a milestone. Actually, it's more of a massive improvement? Maybe it is because I did a proper background this time....Hmm...

Also, I'm going to overflow you with Gintama news again 8D
The new Gintama OP and ED are out :) Kind of early, if you ask me, but who cares? (I'm actually going to miss 'Stairway Generation')
But the new opening is LOVE.

It's called 'Light Infection' by Prague, a group that I think is going to be my new favourite band. And even if the video isn't anything super-action-packed, it's full of cool camera angles (especially Kamui's scene and the beginning of the chorus with Takasugi). Heaps of Young!Gintoki and Shiroyasha footage, I guess put in there purposely because of the new DVD coming out to do with that. Kyubei's scene was really cool too. One note though- they didn't put in a better Okita/Shinsengumi sequence -_- *gives Sunrise evil look*
I guess it is because that the arc coming out isn't really Okita-centric.

The new ending is also pretty good, but 'Asa Answer' and 'Wo Ai Ni' were more addictive :/

This is by Mao Denda, a R'N'B artist I recently discovered about. For some reason I can't bring myself to listen to a lot of english hip-hop/rap/r'n'b, but the japanese take on it is really good to listen to.

I've also started listening to Ringo Shiina, who really is a unique artist to listen to. She's got all those jazz, bossa nova influences in her music, in addition to rock and pop, and a whole lot of other genres (just check out her wikipedia page,so many xD) You may have heard her music in J-Dramas or movies like 'Sakuran' or 'Casshern' (speaking of Casshern, I BADLY want to see that movie). Perhaps you have recognised her as the vocals+guitar from the band Tokyo Jihen. Definitely a stand out from many other japanese mainstream artists, so you should check out her as well.

You'll only get the title if you are aware of what happened at lunch today. Just so you know it has nothing to do with the students of my school.

I guess this is what people call 'The Calm Before A Storm'.
In my words, its 'procrastinating before a test'.
I've wanted to blog this past week, so I finally turned on my laptop and started this. There is a lot that I want to say, but I have a Science test, History assessment, math homework, and a volunteering programs to get to, among other minor tasks, so I'll make this short~

You guys were awesome, and we'll definitely miss you and your great contributions to the school. Never before had I been close to senior students, and the fun times we had can never be replaced. To Ling and Lucie, only if I had gotten to know you earlier! You made such a great contribution as leaders of anime club this year- it is going to be hard to take up your roles when you leave! You are such beautiful people, and I will miss the both of you. I hope you enjoyed the surprise party ;D

Procrastinating

Hmm, or is it? I could just classify it as 'taking a break from doing my health assignment'.
Anyway, the last week or two have been really busy- but not with tests (for once). The SRC elections popped up again, the same day, we went to watch Ponyo on an excursion, we finally got our laptops from the DET...etc.
I got re-elected into the SRC though :) I'm so grateful and happy- I want to thank everyone for giving me another chance to do something for the school ^^ (not that they read this blog lol.)
I was quite nervous before giving the speech though. I was under the impression that no one would vote for me as I had been in the SRC for the past few years. Also, I thought that other, more popular girls would get in. But who knew, I got voted in again~ This will be my fourth time being in the SRC in a row- I hope I can do a good job!

Moving on, the school's Japanese classes went on an excursion to see Ponyo~ About time it got released into movie theatres, its been out for ages. So we walked down to the Ritz and got crammed into a tiny theatre.
It was a pretty good movie, for a G rated movie and all. I quite liked how it was based on the Little Mermaid- but I was waiting for the moment when Ponyo's father would have a flashback from his past. Didn't happen. He wasn't some bishounen either. ~~Slight Disappointment.~~ Not my favourite Miyazaki film though- Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle are my absolute favourites at the moment. I haven't seen Laputa or Princess Mononoke yet though D= Still, it was a really sweet film to watch :)

We also got our laptops, issued by the DET~ I got mine early because I had helped out at the Laptop information night (computer captain duty stuff). Everyone else is getting theirs tomorrow and on Tuesday. But it's pretty sweet- it's running with Windows 7 Enterprise, and has 160 GB of storage- brilliant for such a small laptop (it has a 10 inch screen). It also comes with $15 000 worth of software- but i slightly resent the fact that they installed Adobe CS4 Web Standard and not the Design or Production versions. That meant that they installed Photoshop Elements 7. Seriously, what's the point of giving us CS4 stuff when you give us a crappy version of Photoshop? But the Flash Professional is going to be very useful ;)

That is probably the most important thing you need on a PC! We just have the inbuilt Windows protection, and I think everyone will know that that isn't enough. Just because the DET has an inbuilt filter on websites, doesn't mean it is going to be filtered from viruses.

My entry has turned in to a complain session lol. I have to stop. But one more thing.

I just found out that Kidchan, on DeviantART, has gone missing. Not literally- all her deviations have been deleted )=, as if she left the site. She has always been a source of inspiration for me, and a figure to look up to, and she's gone. I hope it is just a dA glitch. At least her Youtube account is still active, because I want to share this awesome video she made.

The song is 'Life Goes On ~ side K~' by CHEMISTRY, one of my favourite pop duos, and what Kidchan has done here is a AMV/[MAD] of Axis Powers Hetalia. She's done it with Photoshop and Windows Movie Maker. That is so cool. Most people use some other program, but she's done it with movie maker. I'm inspired!

Hey guys~
I've uploaded another deviation on dA~ Be sure to click on it and check out the rest of my ~~crap~~ gallery.
While taking a break from working on 'Kamui', I decided to get a free trial of the Japanese painting program Open Canvas (the absolute god's gift of fast, efficient programs besides Paint Tool SAI). At the same time I tried out another style of colouring. So the combination of staring at Kidchan's work on dA and other influences led me to this~
The title and general feel of this was inspired by Kate Miller-Heidke's song 'The Last Day on Earth'. Beautiful song, btw. *shock. i actually listen to english music*

This suprisingly only took me a few hours to complete. This is really short, compared to the amount of time I am spending on 'Kamui'. It's been so many days.. =_=

Gintama AGAIN ...Dating Sim?

I was surfing the web just now and came across this on Youtube.

One look and I have this strange suspicion that it's a dating sim-Gintama parody xD
Personally, I have no experience with dating sims (and why should I? Not at that age, and have no interest), but I certainly know when to recognise a dating sim opening theme lol.

More Kamui Love?

Haha woah double post today.

Seems like my blog is full of ~~Kamui~~ Gintama love at the moment. Once again my entry is related to Gintama, or more specifically Kamui.

~~(WHAT'S THIS? IS IT POSSIBLE THAT KAMUI MAY OVERTAKE OR RIVAL OKITA AS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER!? )~~

Satoshi Hino is Kamui's seiyuu. If that has no meaning for you, Satoshi Hino voices Sai in Naruto (got anything yet?) He has also appeared in Zero to Tsukaima, and Shakugan no Shana, both with Rie Kugimiya, playing the leads.

Besides all that interesting awesome-ness, he was born in California, and can speak English. But his vocal talents don't stop there <3
He might almost be the best seiyuu singer I've ever heard :) Haha, well maybe not the ultimate best, but he's pretty damn good to listen to!

Work In Progress

If you watch Gintama (epic anime, btw), you may know Kamui. He's Kagura's older brother, but that's all I'm spoiling for you right now xD.

This is a work in progress, so haha, yeah, this isn't the full picture. I'm only showing a little bit of it.
In reality (or rather, canon), Kamui is rather bloodthirsty, and at the moment the picture looks nothing like it, so I'll be sure to fix that up when finishing the colouring.

Fresh Start

I've decided to scrap my old blog- http://www.wingsofwords-andraste.blogspot.com/
Of course I won't delete it, I'll leave it there so I can look back at it in the future and knock my head against a wall after reading all the stupidity in it.

I wanted a fresh start. First of all, the URL was killing me- it goes onto my list of the worst usernames/URLs I've ever created (the other being my DeviantART account handle xD). Then there was the fangirl keyboard smashing, that made me blush in embarrasment everytime I read the posts again.

But saying that doesn't mean I'm not going to fan girl over here.

lol.

So it was my terrible blog naming skills of the past that drove me to create this new blog, 'Naming Difficulties'. I'll try and keep this blog with updates of my art progress, and maybe will have some stuff I didn't put up in my gallery at DeviantART (link to my page is in the side bar), together with some interesting tidbits for you guys to read.
